Question by Neptune: Why did I get Emotional when I Listened to a Relaxation Tape?
I recently listened to a relaxation tape and soon began to cry…I was wondering why did I react that way. The thing is I was emotionally balanced before I listened to it, meaning I was not depressed or anything before I proceeded to listen to it.
I was reading comments left by other listeners and a few said they reacted the same way.
Thanks so much!

Because they release your pent up emotions. That is one of the things that makes you relax

It could be that you have so much stress, that when you relax, all the pent up emotion bursts out. It is probably very healthy.

I would say that you relaxed enough to let out some rather “pent-up” emotions. I’m no psychologist, but that sounds like a healthy thing to me.

It was the wrong music. The right relaxation music should be able to synchronize left and right brain activity. What you heard merely induced emotions. In total mental relaxation, what you should feel should be closer to happiness.

this is normal your sub-conscience releases pent up stress levels which you do not normally encounter it is surprising how stress is inside a person but they do not realise this until they are calm and relaxed the question here is what have you blocked out of your mind either in the past or present for you to be normal happy yet when you listened to this tape you cried i bet afterwards you felt re-freshed much more happier.
