You could work your way into risk management within the finance department of a larger corporation. I wouldn’t necessarily say that risk managers are in “high demand” just yet, but risk management is becoming more and more visible as a distinct function within Finance, and employment in that field is growing. As the global risk landscape changes (political and economic destabilization, terrorist threats, natural disasters, etc.), I’d predict that people with the ability to strategize and implement a proactive corporate policy response will be very highly regarded.
